Spectacular color 15.75 x 16 original painting entitled ‘First Men’ by artist and spaceflight historian Ed Hengeveld. In very fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Hengeveld that reads in part: “Although I have a long list of ideas-for-paintings, this one was not on it. After several summer-months of creative inactivity, the idea just popped into my head and I wanted to make it very much. The painting shows Apollo-11 commander Neil Armstrong very close up. Buzz Aldrin is reflected in Armstrong’s helmet visor as he climbs down Eagle’s ladder to join Armstrong on the lunar surface.”
