Notable collection of official itinerary material and keepsakes from the Apollo 11 ‘Giantstep’ World Tour following their historic moon-landing mission, deriving from the personal collection of longtime NASA employee Robert B. 'Stretch' Flanagan, a Senior Security Specialist who accompanied Apollo astronauts on various post-flight world tours. The collection is highlighted by seven official itinerary booklets for the following visits: Mexico, Sept. 29-30, 1969; Bonn, Germany, October 12-13; Berlin, Germany, October 13-14; Tehran, October 24-26; Bombay, October 26th; and Tokyo, November 4-5. Of particular interest is a three-ring binder containing a fully detailed itinerary of the Apollo 11 World Tour from September 29th until November 5th, covering 27 cities in 24 countries in 39 days. As a whole, the itineraries contain daily procedures relating to flight schedules, accommodation, venue details, and ground transport. In overall fine condition.

The itinerary booklets are accompanied by numerous packets of NASA correspondence and handouts from the tour, with one headed “The 1969 Giantstep Award Winners,” listing Flanagan as the recipient of the Mayor Daley Memorial Award, “For displaying those remarkable qualities of the Chicago Police Department in crowd control situations.” Other accompaniments from Stretch's collection include: a Splashdown Party program, two photos of Flanagan, one of which is signed by Jack Lousma, several commemorative covers, an Apollo mission sticker page, a scarce South Korean ‘welcome’ medal, three Apollo 15 Beta swatches, and a Skylab 4 Beta swatch signed and inscribed by Bill Pogue, who also signs a Skylab 4 symbol sheet.
