Apollo 11 Lunar Plaque – Made From the Original Negative. The original Apollo 11 stainless steel plaque measures 9" x 7 5/8" and is affixed to the Eagle’s ladder. This aluminum plaque measuring 3"x 2½" was made by NASA from the same negative using the same photo etching process as the one on the LM. Includes a consignor’s handwritten, signed COA that reads in part, "This small Apollo 11 plaque was made from the master negative. This same negative was used to produce the plaque left on the lunar surface." No more than 200 of these small plaques were made and given to NASA employees and most have likely been lost over the years. This would go nicely with the 2 squares of Kapton foil also offered in this section.
Estimated Value $250 - 300.
