Two items issued to Mission Control Center employee William P. MacGregor‰ÛÓan Apollo 11 laminated access badge for NASA‰Ûªs Mission Control Center in Houston, Texas, 2.5 x 4, stamped ‰ÛÏA‰Û; and a MMC and Philco-Ford ‰ÛÏRecognition of Service‰Û certificate, 14 x 11, which is awarded to MacGregor, ‰ÛÏCSM Comm / Inst Engineer, For notable contributions to the success of the Apollo 11 mission, first manned lunar landing.‰Û Lower left bears a preprinted signature of MSC Flight Operations Director Christopher Kraft. In overall very good to fine condition, with a vertical fold, edgewear, and irregular toning to the certificate, and some peeling and crinkling to badge laminate.

MacGregor, an employee of Philco-Ford, a developer of the computer consoles for NASA, worked with Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center from 1965 through 1970. On hand as the Gemini and Apollo programs made space travel history, MacGregor worked in roles related to communications, vehicle systems, and the Electrical Power System of the Command Module. Additionally, MacGregor routinely helped fix the vehicles of his friends and NASA coworkers. He became so skilled and specialized that following his retirement from Philco-Ford, Mac returned to his childhood home in Dormont, PA, and opened MacGregor's Volkswagen Repair.
