Extremely rare and highly-desirable flown vibrant-colored printed fabric American flag, 18 x 12, carried into lunar orbit on board Apollo 10. Signed in black ink on the bottom white stripe, “Flown to the moon on Apollo X, May 1969, Tom Stafford,” “John Young,” and “Gene Cernan.” In fine condition. Only about a dozen or so of these size flags were carried on the mission, and less than a scant handful are signed. Complete crew-signed flags from Apollo missions are quite uncommon, and the larger flags are almost never offered for sale, combined with the fact this flag is signed by all three crew members, makes this flown piece an incredibly rare offering.
