Apocalypse Now Brando/Coppola Signed Production Photo
The production of Francis Ford Coppola's astonishing masterpiece "Apocalypse Now" (1979) was so filled with mishaps, delays, heart attacks by several of the stars, storms, political uprisings, emotional and internal conflicts, and financial nightmares, not to mention the astronomical amount of time it took to both shoot and finish, it is one of the miracles of cinema that it saw the light of theater screen at all, and more important that in turn it became one of the greatest American films ever produced. The glue that held this epic together was, of course, the character of Colonel Walter E. Kurtz played by Marlon Brando. Even though he's only seen in the last act of this nearly three hour movie, he permeates the entire film, and his performance is one of the most haunting and unforgettable ever created. And during filming, he literally almost drove Coppola to suicide! That is what makes this autographed official studio publicity photo so collectable. It shows Copolla directing Brando in his famous first appearance in the film. And best yet, it is personally signed by both Marlon Brando and Francis Coppola. It comes with both a COA and a Letter of Provenience from Anahid Nazarian, who was Coppola's librarian and assistant. Photo is B&W and 8x10".
