This lot offers you an Apache Native American Indian tanned leather scout jacket. The scout jacket is adorned with calico trade cloth, lining the opening for the head, and bordering both breast pockets. Additionally, the jacket is decorated with medium cut, tanned hide fringe, hanging prominently off of the breast pockets, and across the back. The collar of the shirt shows a thick double layered leather, with scalloped edges. Finally, the shirt has a leather drawstring closure across the chest, with early trade beads for decorative tips. The shirt shows a museum tag reading "1890's Apache Scout Shirt", though it is believed to range between circa 1890-1910. The shirt shows good condition overall, with supple leather - Though the shirt does show slight tearing near the shoulder. The shirt is closest to a men's size small, and measures 20" wide from each armpit, 26 1/2" long from the neck line to the waist, and 22 1/2" from the shoulder to the wrist.
