Venetian composer and conductor (1750–1825). As the Austrian imperial Kapellmeister from 1788 to 1824, he was one of the most important and famous musicians of his time. Signed autograph musical manuscript on two 12.5 x 8.5 musically lined sheets. On the front page Salieri writes, “Un duettino e un Terzino da cantarsi alla campagna, Salieri,” and the date of 1817. Inside manuscript contains two vocal pieces, 38 bars of music and lyrics overall, including a duet for two soprano voices (in 3 two-line systems) and a trio for soprano, alto, and basso voices (in 3 two-line systems). Front cover also bears an ownership signature of Louise von Zedlitz. In fine condition, with some mild toning. A phenomenal musical piece from the highly esteemed Salieri.
