In the late fifties, Antonio Prohias fled from Cuba to the United States, escaping from Fidel Castro's new regime. Soon Prohias went to work for Mad magazine, where he became a regular favorite of many readers. Art Spiegelman has described the "Spy vs. Spy" feature in The New York Times Magazine as "the comic strip equivalent of the yin-and-yang symbol, good and evil, inter-dependent and inter-changeable -- forever chasing each other's tails." The White Spy plays mind-games on his Black counterpart, using the split-personality riff inspired by The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Each page measures approximately 7.25" x 12.25" overall, with an image area of 6.5" x 11", and the art is in Excellent condition.

Shipping: Small Flat (view shipping information)
