Mexican general and politician (1794–1876) best known in the US for his role in the Mexican-American War and the slaughter of scores of Americans at the Alamo. LS in Spanish, signed “A. L. de Sta Anna,” one page, 8.25 x 10.5, Mexico, June 2, 1853. Untranslated letter in Spanish to a friend. In very good condition, with intersecting folds slightly affecting the signature, scattered creases, light uniform toning, and a few areas of soiling.
