Anton Tischbein (Haina 1720-1784 Hamburg) An allegory: Fortune and Heroism defeating Evil and Envy, with Time sleeping, signed at lower right A. Anton Tischbein went to Italy together with his brother Johann Heinrich the Elder and stayed in Rome in 1750/51. In 1766 he settled in Hamburg. He used his sketches made in Italy as the basis for numerous compositions. He also collaborated in the decoration of the former Castle of Wandsbek, where in 1778 he decorated a small room with seven wall panels, a door frame, and a wall painting. EURO 600 800 US $ 590 790
