Hungarian conductor (1850–1898) who conducted the premiere performance of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, and is especially associated with Wagner’s operas. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by Falk of New York, signed at the top of the image in black ink with a two-bar AMQS. In very good condition, with scattered foxing to the image, adhesive remnants and soiling to the borders, and slight silvering to dark areas of the image.
