French writer and aviator. He is most famous for his novella The Little Prince, and is also well known for his books about aviation adventures, including Night Flight and Wind, Sand and Stars. Signed book: Wind, Sand and Stars. Limited edition of 500 copies (this being No. 161). NY: Reynal and Hitchcock, 1939. Hardcover with slipcase, 5.75 x 8.5, 306 pages. Signed on the limitations page in blue ink. In very good condition, with owner’s bookplate affixed to reverse of signed page, front hinge a bit loose, flaking and chipping to head and tail of spine, as well as a bit of light crazing, and some light staining to boards. Slipcase shows a couple of partial edge separations, light surface loss, and sunning to edges and spine.
