<td width="100%">
18th. century zitan wood box with brass handles and ornaments, contains 15 exquisite spinach-green jade seals with the handle carved in bas relief and representing an imperial dragon that clearly displays the 5 claws indicating that this is an imperial seal. The dragon is surrounded by ling zhi, the fungus of immortality. Each seal has different inscriptions and the shape differs from one seal to the other (2 have oval shape). The red dye in the crevices attest to their previous use. This jade seals collection is part of our imperial seals collection and by far is the best collection of seals ever assembled and no museums in the world could rival with their collection, in comparison with ours. To our best knowledge, not Metropolitan Museum of Art, or Fields museum in Chicago, has a collection of seals that could compare with ours. Size of box: 12.2" X 6" x 6" ((31 cm. X 15 cm. x 15 cm.). Seal size varies, the largest: 3.1" x 2" (8 cm. X 5 cm.). Estimated value: $90.000. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the renown author of the collectors' illustrated textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors".
