Antique nautical sextant, cased in hinged wood box with brass telescope and three extra lenses, the device appears to be circa mid to late 1800’s and has a fascinating array of mirrors, lenses and what appears to be an arc measuring grid made ofivory. The whole device and its container are uncleaned and in out-of-the-attic condition. The case is approx. 11” x 10” x 5” and in overall untouched fair + condition with a large crack in the lid and missing the presentation plaque butotherwise complete with both securing hooks and eyelets remaining and a brass carry handle on the left side of the box.
