The Sunshade - The Glove- The Muff... this antique slender volume about 10 inches high x 7 by 1 inch thick, well over 100 years old now as dated 1883 and translated into English from French, it's in English; like a collection of three long essays on fashion accessories - umbrellas and parasols since sunshades as the author calls them, gloves, and muff (remember those in the movies ?); Octave Uzanne with an interesting, chatty, lively writing style with his observations and thoughts on these articles of dress and adornment, indeed as in the films (Remember My Fair Lady ?) (The Easter Parade ?); manners are indeed important then too; with cartouche like the second page here: on every page; many drawing and like etchings too; plus all these over 132 are not yet read nor used; as is... is only the cover which can be fixed expertly by a conservator ; pages are gold sided; it's a hard cover; plus are added pages for: many Appendix pages; worth well over $75.00 and very rare, and this one is a real old one, probably in the 100's of $; valuable to any serious fashion historian's library, for your collection or start one now; or give.
