This set of antique wood clamps were used to compress parts of a furniture piece during the manufacturing process. These probably were used to hold larger items during the furniture-making process. These operated by screwing the top towards the bottom.
One of these measures 28 inches tall, with a 3 3/4-inch top. It is a "block" base of 3 by 6 inches. Through the hole in the top of the clamp is a 10-inch long handle. The other measures 26 inches tall, with a 3-inch top. It has a "block" base of 3 1/4 inches by 7 1/2 inches. Both of these measure 2 1/2 inches in the thickness of the screw, the scored column between the top and the base. Both pieces are varnished hardwood.
These pieces are mid-to late nineteenth century vintage. They are hard-to-find items!
Shipping is determined after checkout.
