Antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle in Scarce 25-35 WCF Caliber

This is an example of a very early antique Winchester model 1894 rifle chambered in the very scarce and desirable 25-35 WCF. This rifle was actually produced in the end of 1897 and is equipped with a 26" octagon barrel that has the desirable "Nickel Steel" barrel marked made for Smokeless Powder. These barrels ushered in the era of better grade steels to handle the new high power cartridges. The top flat of the barrel is marked with the standard two line Winchester address, with the caliber designation at the breech, and the additional nickel Steel/Smokeless Powder markings on the left side of the barrel. The barrel is fitted with a Marbles No. 5 front sight, and the standard Winchester adjustable sporting rear sight, with a full length magazine. It has the standard straight grip walnut stock with a steel crescent buttplate, and standard forend with steel nose cap.

Manufucture: Winchester
Model: 1894
BBL: 26 inch octagon
Stock: walnut
Guage: 25-35 WCF
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 97052

Very good with 25% of the blue finish overall with most of the remaining blue on the barrel itself with the remaining parts having turned a gray patina. The front sight is missing the bead. The stock and forend are very good with nice original unsanded appearance showing light handling marks and scratches from western frontier use. A solid example of an antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle.
