This beautiful mahogany chest of drawers was hand-crafted from solid wood in Late-Victorian England around 1900. Since then, the mahogany has acquired the loveliest of patinas, which enriches the wood's naturally pleasant complexion and distinct grain. The shell-shaped knobs, which are a bit darker than the rest of the piece, complement the wood very well, as does the grooved moulding at the top and base of the piece. Each of the six drawers features brass escutcheons--unfortunately the piece does not retain its key--front and rear hand-cut dovetailed joints, and offers generous storage space. The bottom drawer actually comprises part of the sturdy plinth base, which is a unique feature and allows the drawer to offer even more storage space than usual, while the piece rests on removable casters for easy movement, although they have been worn to a point that they aren't very mobile. There is some minor wear on this piece (pictured below), but overall cosmetic condition remains excellent, especially given the piece's great age. Meanwhile, structural integrity remains incomparably strong. This Victorian chest of drawers will certainly continue to function beautifully for generations to come, so don't miss your chance to make it a part of your home today!
