From the Proctor Estate, Silver City, NM. These pineapple shaped jars (or pitchers) are used to make tepache, a fermented pineapple drink. This jar dates back to the 1960's. The pitcher is in good shape, but as often happens, there is damage to the lid. One leaf was broken and reglued, there is a chip on knob and there are a few chips on the leaves, see images. The pitcher itself has no chips or cracks and the color is good, lots of green and gold. On the inside of the pitcher, the clay looks uneven as though the maker slapped on another layer of clay before firing. The pitcher is 15 high by 10'' wide (this includes the lid).
