An American Coin Silver figural large serving spoon or soup ladle by *Duhme & Co., circa 1850s. A large scalloped gilt bowl with engraved foliate decorations to the border. The curved long handle has Prince of Wales feathers & geometric engraved decorations with a Medallion depicting a Roman Soldier with a helmet. The serving spoon comes in its original and unique guitar shaped box with original interior blue velvet lining. The spoon measures 8 7/8" long and the bowl is 2 1/2" wide and weight is 2.8 oz or 80 grams. Can be used as a gravy or berry ladle as well. Very nice condition with no bends or dents to the silver, gilt bowl well preserved and box has normal wear.

*Duhme & Co. was started in Cincinnati, Ohio sometime in the 1840's by Herman Duhme.
