Antique Sharps No. 1-A Four-Barrel Pepperbox Pistol, #45509, .22 RF cal., blued 2.5'' barrel cluster has tiny pin front sight, slides forward for cartridge loading/extraction; silver-plated brass frame with integral spurtrigger sheath and grip straps, has a circular ''C. Sharps/Patent 1859'' marking on left side, and ''C. Sharps & Co./Philada. PA'' on right, a front barrel release button, and hammer with sequential rotating firing pin; one-piece brown gutta percha grips have a relief floral/vine design. Mfg'd ca. 1859-74. Condition is very good. Metal surfaces retain no original finish, being smooth gunmetal gray steel and bright cleaned brass. Grips are smooth and solid with highpoint wear and a shallow 1/8'' chip out at right toe. Action is tight and smooth; bores are bright with light etching toward muzzles and distinct rifling; barrel lockup is secure. Est.: $350-$500. (Antique)*
