These antique(circa 1900)saddle-bag binoculars were used on cattle drives from Texas on the trail to the shipping yards at Wichita and Abilene, Kansas (used to watch for strays, any dangers, and predators). Their brass frames are leather covered (for a better grip) and are easily focused by one hand so that the other hand was free to hold a weapon or the horses reins. They still work almost like new, and the leather is still soft and pliable.
