For your consideration in this lot we have a antique Red Wing 10 gallon glazed crock originating from the early 20th century. Red Wing Union Stoneware, now Red Wing Pottery, refers to American stoneware, pottery, or dinnerware items made by a company initially set up in Red Wing, Minnesota, in 1861 by German immigrant John Paul, which changed its names several times until finally settling on Red Wing Potteries, Inc. in 1936. The pottery factory that started in 1861 continues to the present day under the names of Red Wing Pottery and Red Wing Stoneware. The crock is marked "10 Red Wing - Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing Minn." across the front. The crock shows two bands of iron across the top and bottom of the piece. The crock shows good condition overall with some chipping of the glaze and rust on the bands. The piece measures 16 1/4" tall with a diameter of 15 3/4".
