Antique Color Print of the New York Battery Military Fort. This antique hand-colored print is entitled North Battery, Foot of Hubert St, New York. This military fort was created by 2 famous American artists, Robert W. Weir and James Smillie. This historic round military garrison, important during the Revolution and War of 1812 but no longer standing, is the original site in New York harbor of the present Fort Hamilton whose flag was raised in 1831. Print text reads: Painted and Engraved for the New York Mirror, 1833. Printed by J. Neale. Painted scene is 8.75 in.W x 6H plus text. Print is in antique deep walnut frame with gold leaf lip, 12.5 in.H x 16.5W. Handsome addition for history buffs.
