This antique hexagonal lantern features its original painted finish and four candlesticks connected to a long brass stem with large brass ring at top. Its red color is enhanced with black edging and a cross-hatch pattern along the base. At the base of the top is a Gothic crocket pattern painted on the underside with pale green color. Believed to be made from sheet iron. Measures 26" high, 15" wide and 15" deep. Weighs an estimated 15-20 lbs. Ready for use.

This item comes from the collection of Roni Steinberg Sokoloff, and resided in her former 63-acre estate in Bedford NY known as Cantitoe Farms. (The estate is down the street from Martha Stewart's estate of the same name.) It was purchased by Ms. Sokoloff in the early 1980s.
