Antique ''Monitor'' Spurtrigger Pocket Revolver, #16385, .22 RF cal., 2.25'' round barrel with blade front sight marked ''Monitor'' on top; plain 7-shot round cylinder, solid frame has raised sighting notch at rear of topstrap, removable cylinder pin/extractor rod, central hammer, integral spurtrigger sheath and ''bird's head'' gripstraps marked ''16385'' at butt, two-piece varnished rosewood grips. Mfg'd ca. 1860s-1800s, originally in full nickel-plate with case hardened hammer and trigger. Condition is fine retaining approx. 80% bright nickel (difficult to discern where missing, as colors match closely), and silvering case colors. Fine grips show light marks and wear to left panel, most original finish and excellent fit. Action is crisp; bore shows overall moderate etching and was perhaps mfg'd without rifling. Est.: $150-$250. (Antique)(John Ackerman collection)
