Once auctioneer says “SOLD” Buyer assumes all responsibility for items.
For sale in this lot is an antique model 1855 Colt pocket pistol, aka Colt Root model. The Colt Model 1855 Root Side-hammer percussion Pocket Revolver was manufactured from 1855 through to 1870 in both .28 and .31 caliber. It was designed by Samuel Colt even-though it was named after Elisha K. Root who was Colt’s factory foreman and general superintendent. It has the two-line Hartford barrel address. It cycles properly, however the trigger spring is weak and does not always come back after cycling, and we have not fired it. Keep in mind this is an antique and not warranted safe to shoot and it should not be attempted without the aid of an expert. Maker: Colt, Serial No. 5957. Approx. Age: 1856. Size: Barrel length is 3-1/2 inches.  Condition: Fair to poor for its age, wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $15 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that. BUY IT NOW: If you would like to buy this item now without waiting for the auction to end (this option is only available up to 48 hours before the auction starts to close), the “Buy it Now” price is the high estimate of this lot. If you would like to end the auction early and pay the high estimate (plus applicable fees), please contact us by phone or email and reference this lot number. *****ANTIQUE - This firearm DOES NOT REQUIRE an FFL Transfer*****
