A first edition copy of "A Manual on Metallurgy" Volume 1 by William Henry Greenwood, published 1875 by G.P. Putnam's Sons of New York from Putnam's Advanced Science Series. Volume 1 covers the topics of "Fuel, Iron, Steel, Tin, Antimony, Arsenic, Bismuth and Platinum". Illustrated throughout with 59 engravings. Perforations and stamps on title page indicate that the copy was owned by the California State Mining Bureau. Hardback, 200 pages, original red fabric cover w/ black text and embellishment. Good condition, some cosmetic wear to cover; see photos. 5"x7"x1".
