Antique Merwin, Hulbert & Co. Medium-Frame Double Action Revolver, with rare folding hammer spur, #25795, .38 CF cal., 3.5'' round barrel, pinned blade front and long groove rear sight, marked with maker's name, address and 1877-80-82-83 patent dates on top rib, has bottom-left button to allow removal, twists to right for cartridge loading/extraction, along with fluted 5-shot round cylinder; frame is marked ''38 Cal'' at left, has left-side access plate, right-side sliding loading gate, bottom barrel-release button and integral square-butt gripstraps containing two-piece checkered black hard rubber grips with raised borders and a circular panel at top. Mfg'd ca. 1880s, originally with full-blued finish, case hardened hammer and trigger. Condition is fine+. Metal surfaces retain approx. 50% overall deep, glossy blue; hammer and trigger show mottled case colors. Grips show sharp checkering and designs, light wear at sides of butt, and fit well. Edges, screw heads and markings are sharp; action is crisp; bore is bright showing very light frosting at muzzle and fine rifling. Est.: $600-$900. (Antique)*
