The book is bound by decorative green marbled paper boards with dark leather bindings. The title and year are emblazoned in gilt letters on the leather spine cover. Encompassing a tumultuous year during the American Civil War, this collection of Harper's Weekly features numerous illustrations of battles and other important events including: the Battle of Pittsburg Landing; the Great Naval Battle before Memphis; the Battle of Baton Rouge; the Battle of Beever Creek; and more. Condition / Notes: The boards of this volume display moderate to significant rubbing and shelfwear, particularly on edges and high points. There are partial cracks to the front and back hinges though the binding is otherwise solid and intact. Several pages and illustrations have been clipped or lost, and at least one page is detached. Some typical age toning is visible on the pages though the text and illustrations remain clear and legible throughout the book. - 10425-050518-IN-02203
