<td width="100%">
This is a beautiful little quarter-cut oak box, made for filing index cards (or the like): it has a metal sliding piece inside to hold the cards in place when not full. The corners are dovetailed, and the cover, which is fastened with 2 brass hinges, has a graceful curved shape on the sides. A small company name is painted in red, gold, and black on the front; it reads "WEIS, Monroe, Mich, USA. Made in USA." There are a couple miniscule chips in the paint of this logo. The box is in excellent condition, with a few very tiny scratches in the finish.
