Antique Hand Tinted Photograph by W. H. Jackson, visual measures 5.75'' x 12''L, when taken out of frame the photo was lines with a December 1897 piece of newspaper from Chicago, the picture was framed by Perkowitz Bros in Evanston, Illinois as per paper label on back of frame, the photo is titled 40 Gateway and Pike's Peak and there is a faint signature on the right hand side in white ''W. H. Jackson & Co. Photo.'', Jackson worked for the U.S. Geological Survey in the 1870's'', FYI: ''William Henry Jackson (April 4, 1843 - June 30, 1942) was an American painter, Civil War veteran, geological survey photographer and an explorer famous for his images of the American West. He was a great-great nephew of Samuel Wilson, the progenitor of America's national symbol Uncle Sam.''
