This is a lovely quilt from around the 1930s in the pattern of "Grandmother's Flower Garden" because, if you look closely at it, it appears to be a bunch of rows of flower tops.

This quilt is made with feed sack and calico print fabrics. The back is made with a large piece of calico which wraps around onto the front to make a slim border. Notice the predominant jade green color (highly desirable and a little harder to find)background. Also, every flower has a white center.

Each flower measures approx. 8" and consists of 19 1.75" hexagons. It is hand-stitched and hand- quilted. The batting is a thin batting so this may have been a summer quilt. The quilt itself measures about 75" x 84". I think that would be a single or full bed. Regardless, it would make a lovely throw blanket for your family room or a wonderful display piece.

The quilt is in good to very good condition. There are no rips or tears. There are a few minor spots which may come out when cleaned - but I will leave that up to the buyer as I am not an expert at this. I noticed on one edge the seam is ripping a bit, but it is only about 1" and it looks like a result of age not misuse.
