This antique Chippendale English style fireplace grate utilizes brass, iron, and glass in its construction. The brass has been polished and laquered. The colored glass pieces are cast to resemble flames and are held in brackets forming the sides and front in a bombay shape. The feet are chippendale style cast brass. The door in the front is cast brass and opens to allow the fire to be controled. The top is covered with colored glass pieces. This is a very attractive item and will add life to any fireplace.
