Antique European Single-Shot Boxlock Percussion Pocket Pistol, unmarked as to maker or country of origin, NVSN, .45 cal., 3'' octagonal brass barrel has a large circular cannon-turned muzzle, unique ''ramped'' nipple bolster, is marked ''SP'' on right angled flat, and made integral with the squared boxlock frame having a central hammer and long upper and lower tangs; steel loop trigger guard; one-piece artificially-striped hardwood (or possibly root-wood) bag-style grips. Mfg'd ca. 1840s-60s. Condition is good. Brass shows light age toning with mostly sharp edges and markings, iron parts are smooth gunmetal gray. Grips are solid without cracks or losses, and retain nearly all of a possibly later varnish. Action functions; smoothbore is clean showing overall etching. Est.: $200-$350. (Antique)
