Antique European 2-Band Percussion Musket, NVSN, .62 cal., unmarked 35" round barrel, blade front and folding sliding-leaf rear sights, bayonet lug 3.25" behind right muzzle, nipple bolster integral with octagonal breech; unmarked flat lockplate has hammer with tall spur; brass furniture includes trigger guard with sling loop at front, 4.75" plain right-side patchbox, large buttplate, two teardrop-shaped lock screw escutcheons, two clamping bands (top with sling loop), nosecap retaining the steel tulip-tip ramrod. Fullstock of oil-finished walnut has raised aprons at either side of lock. Mfg'd ca. 1860s. Condition is good, the iron surfaces being cleaned bright with overall moderate-to-heavy pitting that likely obscures any markings, brass shows light age-toning. Stock is sound showing scattered marks from military use, with right-side half-inch gouge between the bands. Front lock screw is missing. Action is stiff, smoothbore shows moderate-to-heavy erosion.
