This is an antique tobacco cutter from Dodge City, Kansas circa 1914. Ever since the early 1870's, Dodge City has been portrayed as a "Wild West" city having been home to some of the most notable figures in American history such as Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson and Doc Holliday. Dodge City was the setting for the radio and television series "Gunsmoke". This is a fantastic historical piece that is marked "Dodge City Wholesale Grocer Co. Dodge City, Kansas" and "Patented Dec. 1-1914". The bottom is marked "Mfd by T.C. Johnson Co. Quincy, Ill". The tobacco cutter is in good condition. It measures 4.5" x 15" and is 8.5" tall.
