A Very Beautiful Campana Form Vase, Circa 1810, by Derby Porcelain of England. Pure White Porcelain Decorated in Rich Cobalt Blue with a reserve painted in a Landscape scene done with a high degree of accomplishment showing figures on the banks of a river near a bridge and thatched roof cottages with a boat anchored nearby, under a cloud filled sky, all set against a vast and distant landscape. A Very Beautiful and Highly Detailed Painting, all by an Expert Hand, possibly by Mr.Jockey Hill, one of the most Accomplished Landscape Painters at Derby at this time. The Cobalt Body of the Vase plays Host to Very Fine Gilt Work, done in Scrolls and Arabesques, So Popular and Typical of Regency England. The Bold formed Handles are Attached by Zeus like Masks done in the most Classical Style. The Vase is now mounted on a Carved Fluted and Gilded Pedestal, and Mounted as a Lamp. The Vase was not harmed in any way to do this, only the bolt that connected the body and base was replaced with a rod and cap, so that it could be used as a lamp. In Excellent condition, with very little rubbing to the gilt, and None to the Painting itself. A very Beautiful Piece! The Vase is 8" wide across the top, and 14" tall, including the gilded pedestal, not including the shade.
