Antique Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter, #43841, .45 Colt cal., 7.5" barrel, nickel finish, smooth walnut one-piece grip, black powder frame, bullseye ejector rod head, with standard fixed sights. Matching visible numbers, including the cylinder. Inside of the loading gate is marked "7092". Mfg'd 1880. Revolver is in near excellent overall condition as professionally restored, retaining nearly all the renickeled finish, with light flaking at the muzzle and minor marks. Hammer and trigger show muted color case hardened finish. Screw heads are excellent and the cylinder pin shows attractive fire blued finish. Grips are in near excellent condition as refinished, with some flaking of the new finish, and are marked with matching serial number in the groove. Action is crisp with all four clicks. Bore is fair with moderate erosion and clear rifling. Includes a Colt Factory letter confirming the features, showing barrel length, and stocks as not listed. The letter further indicates the revolver was shipped on May 14, 1880 to Schoverling, Daly & Gales, New York, New York with 12 guns in shipment. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (Antique)
