<td width="100%">
This is a nice powder box made in silver plate supporting a very old piece of pottery from either the Ming Dynasty (14th century) or the Ching Dynasty (19th century). A note is included for authenticity stating that valuable vases were destroyed by the Red Guards during China's cultural revolution in the 1960's. The boxes are hand made to "fit" the ancient remains perfectly into a useful and historical box. The box is in wonderful condition and the vase fragment top is had made and hand painted in rich light orange with a porcelain background. The edging on both the top and bottom is nicely stamped in a formal pattern. The bottom edges have some wear but nothing to detract from the overall attractiveness of the item. Lots of history with this piece.
