This impressive chest of drawers with matching mirror in neo-classical style comes from a lovely early 19th century townhouse on Stuyvesant Street in Manhattan. Measures 40.75" wide by 19.5" deep by 43.75" high and the height of the attached mirror is 73.75". This commode chest features a marble top drop-well, two handkerchief drawers, oval mirror, and three large drawers. Drawers have hand-made dovetails, and based on the style of this piece we believe it dates from circa 1840-60. Top drawer fronts and front of apron feature a serpentine shape and the front corners are curved. Original locks are intact but it's not known if they're in working order.
