Early 19th. century porcelain plate with figural design. The plate has the archaic seal of emperor Dao Guang ( 1821-1850) and of the period. This is a superior enamel work on porcelain from the imperial workshops. It has 2 opposite male figures and a central vignette of seated man. Also calligraphy and go game table. The back of the plate features 4 bats and the archaic seal. The plate is intact except an age line that is about 1" in length. Size: 6.8" diameter. The 4 bats design indicate that this plate is a funerary plate of the emperor, and unique!. Estimated value: $6000.
