Qing dynasty large jade carving in shape of a boat looking like a stem of lotus ending in a bird head and carrying the 5 gods of good luck. This is an exquisite celadon-white jade with an unusual subject of carving. It is slightly curved and measures 7.5 inches in length and 2.5 inches height. The base measures 1 inch. A wood stand is provided for this jade carving that appears to be dating to 18th. century. Flawless.
Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of collectors textbook: "Jade: 5000 BC to 1912 AD". Estimated value: $6.500.
