Yuan period silver-finish back mirror with intricate mother of pearl decorations inlaid in black lacquer. Exquisite mother of pearl decorations feature a pair of phoenix birds holding peony flowers buds in their beaks, peony flowers, buds and ling zhi sprigs and these decorations are extremely rare on bronze mirrors!. Octagonal, crenelated margins of this mirror accentuate the uniqueness and the master work of this mirror. The reverse side of the mirror has a silver-like polish covered with spotty green patina.
