A Beautiful and Early Chinese Export Porcelain Vase, commonly refered to as a "Pistol Handle" Vase. Beautiful Vibrant Colors and "marble" detailing at the base. Panels of Exotic Birds in fanciful landscapes on Gilded backgrounds. Slight rubbing to the gilding in the expected areas of a piece this age. The shape of this Vase can be traced back to the late 16th Century designs by Stefano della Bella' when he was working for Ferdinand de Medici. Theses designs were first published in England by Israel Sylvestri and a later edition by Sayer was faithfully reproduced by Wedgwood. The Wedgwood version was the model for the vases that the Chinese copied, although the same vase was copied by the Marieburg Factory in Sweden.
