<td width="100%">
We have a great looking antique oak children's easel desk. The desk dates to the early 20th century and was sold through the Sears, Roebuck and Co. Chicago, IL. The all wood desk can flip up and become a chalkboard with a tray for the chalk. The top has the original paper roll with many varied pictures and schooling lessons. There are two handles on the side that you turn to go forward or backward. The metal handles most likely had little wooden nob's that are no longer present however this does not effect the functionality of the rolling.
The desk has 4 legs and stands like an easel with original chain hardware that keep the legs from spreading apart too far. When the desk top is folded down there are six wooden compartments for storage of school supplies. The desk can then be flipped up, and the legs brought in to store away. The desk measures 46 3/5" tall and is 20" by 22" wide when the desk top is down. It is only 4" by 22" wide when it is folded up.

The condition is very good for it's age. The wood and finish is in wonderful shape as is the original rolled paper scroll. The chalkboard surface has seen better days with much of it showing wear through. The desk top looks great. This has and will continue to be a big conversation piece. It's just fun to own!
