Item/Description: Antique Belgian Single Shot Percussion Boot Pistol. Marked with Belgian hallmark ELG and star, made circa 1850 in Liege. Marking and etchings are worn. Screw barrel.
Liege has long been a manufacturing center for the world’s arms trade. This small type of pistol was very popular from the 18th and into the 19th Centuries, in Europe, as well as the colonies. They could be easily stowed in a pocket or a boot.

Condition: Signs of age and wear include surface scratches, scuffing, oxidation, and pitting. Cracks to wood. Etchings are worn. Gun is untested and being sold for parts or repair.
