Antique American Bulldog Revolver
Property being sold is not new! Dents, dings, scratches and other damage may be present—and is common—on used and vintage items. Items are available for preview well in advance of the auction and we take several pictures as well. Please inspect thoroughly PRIOR to bidding. Once auctioneer says “SOLD” Buyer assumes all responsibility for items.
Presented for sale in this lot is the American Bulldog was manufactured by Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works during the late 1800s for black powder cartridges. They were not marked with serial numbers, but this one is marked "American Bulldog" on the top strap, indicating it is likely a first model made circa 1882 - 1886. The nickel finish is in poor shape and the right grip has a chip in it. This double action revolver seems to function and cycle correctly when dry fired, but we do not know if it works. It looks to be chambered for a .38 cal. cartridge and comes with a leather holster. Maker: Iver Johnson - no serial number found. Approx. Age: Antique, circa 1880s. Size: Barrel measures 2-1/2 inches.  Condition: Fair for its age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $15 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that.
