Antique 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #122841, .45 Colt cal., 4.75" barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, smooth antique ivory two-piece grips, front sight removed with a fixed "V"-notch rear sight, and black powder frame, Factory markings are legible, with a two-line barrel address. Mfgd 1887. Revolver is in good overall condition, retaining approx. 5%-10% original finish in the protected areas of the barrel and ejector rod housing, with the remainder gone to even brown patina. Barrel shows scrapes and indentations with scattered spots of light surface erosion. Frame shows traces of smoky gray color case hardened finish, with the remainder gone to dark patina. Screw heads are very good. Frame and trigger guard with matching numbers, backstrap does not match. Inside of the loading gate is marked "78". Patent dates are clear, left side of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL". Grips display pleasing taffy colored patina with numerous vertical cracks in the left panel, typical age cracks at the base and slightly reduced with age. Action functions but will not hold open and will require repair. Bore is fair, with moderate erosion, rifling is visible. Est.: $2,000-$2,500. (Antique)
